This is an updated version of the DirectShow Playback FAQ that [http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=39509.0 Yaobing kindly started a while back].  I've modified it a good deal, and will be putting further work into it as time permits (and, likely, as people ask questions).

I should say -- I am no world expert on this stuff.  I do a lot of video editing (among other tasks) at my job and I'm a media hobbyist at home (aren't we all) and this is all based on what I've learned through my own investigations in the past few years.  If there is anything wrong in here, I'd love to learn more so please correct me!

This is an updated version of the DirectShow Playback FAQ that Yaobing kindly started a while back.

--glynor 19:42, 16 May 2007 (CDT)

I updated this today to include some new information on Quicktime Player and Quicktime Alternative, including a nice install tutorial I found. --glynor 11:24, 16 July 2007 (CDT)
