Time-shifting and recording features were added to Media Center TV support since version 9.
Time-shifting: Media Center cashes live TV data on your hard disk and allows you to pause, resume, jump backward, jump forward, and skip ads.
Recording: You can record TV shows and watch them later. Currently you can record in two formats (in most cases): JTV and TS. JTV is JRiver's time-shifting file format. TS is the native digital TV format (transport stream).
