Media Center contains a plug-in architecture for supporting various remote control devices. Currently there is one plug-in included with the installation (IRMan) and three other plug-ins are available from our [[Remote Control Plug-ins page]]: X10 MP3, X10 Mouse and USB Uirt. After installing and configuring a remote control device, you can control many program functions from across the room, or in the case of the X10 radio frequency devices, in another room entirely. You can also use a very flexible program called "Girder" to remote control Media Center. It's a separate program and controls Media Center directly rather than through a plug-in.
