Some files already contain information about their content. For example, an mp3 may include the artist, album and track name, so that when you import it, that information is displayed. This information is stored in an id3 tag. When you import files, Media Center reads the id3 tags and inserts the information into the proper fields (title, genre, etc). - Go to Tools > Plug-in Manager > Input > MP3 Plug-in and select Configure
- Check "Ignore ID3v2 tag during analysis”. While this may speed up the import process, it will also limit the information retrieved from the file.
