This device only supports some AVI files. According to [http://www.dlink.com/products/resource.asp?pid=318&rid=1097&sec=0 DLink Specs], they must be MPEG4 layer only. Some AVI files appear to be playable (not grayed out) when viewing via DLink's server, but selecting them to play gives a "format not supported" error.
