Overview of Conversion Options

MC has a high quality conversion engine, that can be used to transcode from one format to another. Select the file(s) you wish to convert the Right Click --> Library Tools --> Convert format to create a list source files. In the Convert Format window you can then: - Convert the files - View the "Details" of the files to be converted and also - Set the "Options" of the conversion. These options include the ability to "Apply DSP" so you have the ability to use all the features of the DSP engine such as Volume Levelling, Equalisation, Sample Rates, Bitdepths, and Channel Up/Down mixing as needed.

Audio Conversion

When converting Audio Formats you have a wide range of formats to choose from (popular ones include, FLAC, APE, MP3, Uncompressed) as well as the ability to configure the various encoder settings (such as Bitrate, quality etc)

Video Conversion

When converting Video Formats you have a predefined set of profiles from which you can choose that covers a wide range of both file types and quality presets.

Extract Audio from Video Files

Optionally when selecting Video Files for conversion, you can check the "Convert video to audio" box and this will then extract the audio track and encode it using the Audio Conversion setting listed above. More information is in this thread [1]
