Convert your files to maximize the number of files on the burned cd. If you are burning multiple file types (for example, ape, mp3 and wma), you can direct Media Center to convert all the files to wma except mp3 files, which will be burned in their original format. This saves time, but also preserves the quality of the mp3s. Similarly, you can direct Media Center to convert all the files to mp3 except for wma files, which will be burned in their native format.

  • Enable Allow mp3 format as well should be selected if you want to include mp3s on your cd without converting them to the selected format.
  • Enable Force conversions of mp3/wma files with higher bitrates to maximize the number of tracks on the CD. This will convert higher bitrate files into lower bitrate files.
