Album gain is calculated on the fly, based on the replay gain of individual tracks that make up the album. For example, if you were to add new tracks to the album, then the Album Gain number may change.
To view the results of Album Gain, customize your list column headings (View > Customize View) and add Album Gain as a column (select the Add. button next to the "Columns to Show" box, and then select Album Gain).
