The problem is that all the entries are orphans. Since they only appear in one place, just making a web page with a link to them is sufficient. |

The FAQ is a category because all the info should appear in the manual as well as in the FAQ. |

What I would suggest is replacing the main category page with a plain page, and for now, subsections for Audio, Image etc... |

That's fine but I was just following the lead that had been done for User Contributed Smartlists and User Contributed View Schemes. I believe those are just the same in which a single item is discussed. If you don't think Database Expressions should be a category then Smartlists and View Schemes should probably not be either. Yes, I think all three should be converted to simple pages. It's always nagged at me to have "User Contributed..." pages when the idea of a wiki is for everything to be user contributed.
