Time-shifting and recording features were added to Media Center TV support since version 9.
Time-shifting
Media Center cashes live TV data on your hard disk and allows you to pause, resume, jump backward, jump forward, and skip ads.
Recording
You can record TV shows and watch them later. Currently you can record in two formats (in most cases): JTV and TS. JTV is JRiver's time-shifting file format. TS is the native digital TV format (transport stream).
