[Media Type] is one of Media Center's important predefined Library Fields. All files are assigned a Media Type automatically upon Import, and this field is used by the default Media Views to divide your Library into the different basic categories of media. Media Type can be assigned to:
- Audio
- Image
- Video
- TV
- Data
- Playlist
If Media Center cannot determine the appropriate Media Type upon import, the file will be assigned the Data Media Type, and will show up in the default Documents Media View.
