Thank You

Thanks for considering an upgrade. You can upgrade for $24 through December 31, 2012 from any version all the way back to Media Center 10, or from Media Jukebox 8.

How to Upgrade and Purchase

If you have never purchased MC, just download it first, then purchase from within the program. You will receive an MC18 license that works with MC17 and MC18 on Windows.

If you already own MC, you can purchase an MC18 upgrade license now by using this webpage (installation of MC18 not required): Alternate Method

You can also purchase or upgrade from inside MC18. See 'Downloading MC18' below.

If you aren't sure what licenses you have, you can follow the instructions here: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Restoring_a_License

Downloading MC18

Builds of Media Center 18 are posted on the MC18 board: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=27.0

Look for a thread near the top titled something like 'Media Center 18.0.xxx -- Available Here'.

You can leave MC17 or another previous version installed until you're happy with MC18. You can then uninstall the old version.

A License That Works with Two Versions

If you purchase MC17 now, OR if you purchased MC17 after July 10, 2012, the license is an MC18 license that works with both MC17 and MC18. You can just download and install MC18.

Once you have upgraded, any subsequent build of MC17.0 or MC18.0 is free. Just download and install it.

Recovering Your License

  • Old versions of MC can be found here.
  • You can restore your license for any version back to MJ8, by using the Registration Code you received by e-mail from buy-button at jriver. You can enter it on the Restore Page.
  • If you can't find the e-mail, you can use the Restore Page option #2 to ask our license server to e-mail you your licenses. You can also change your e-mail address there if necessary.
  • If you have questions, please post on Interact.

Converting Old Libraries

You may chose to start fresh and let Media Center import your files. Performance may seem a little slow until this is completed.

Media Center can also read and convert some older MC libraries. This is automatic for MC15 or newer versions. For older libraries, make a backup from the old version and restore it in Media Center. Backup and restore are under File/Library. MC makes automatic backups.

MC18 can also copy your settings from MC17 or MC16. This is automatic when MC18 first starts and can also be done when you restore an MC16 or MC17 library (under File/Library).

Old versions of MC can be found here.
